Ulf Brantas, Swedish Cinematographer and Masters POV 2010 Attendee Wins Best Cinematography
We were excited to learn that Masters POV 2010 attendees Swedish Cinematographer Ulf Brantås and Director Björn Runge, were bestowed the Donostia award for Best Cinematography at the 59th San Sebastian International Film Festival‘s closing ceremony on Sept 24th.
Brantås tells FTC:
“We did want to apply as much as possible in the film of the knowledge of Maestro Storaro – gathered at your very seminar – as we could – despite an incredible low budget- and I am deeply honored the San Sebastian filmfestival decided to award the film. Happy End director Björn Runge, who attended the Storaro seminar as well, and throughout the prep was an devoted advocate for bringing ideas regarding colorschemes and visual consistency to the project has in addition used the fundamentals of Maestro Storaro’s concepts and applied them to stageplays.”
Congratulations on your efforts to Ulf and Björn from all of us at FTC! We are honored to have played a part in your success and we look forward to seeing you both at the Masters POV 2012 in LA!
Brantås has previously worked as a cinematographer on Lukas Moodysson’s SHOW ME LOVE (FUCKING ÅMÅL), LILYA 4-EVER and TOGETHER. Over the past years Brantås has primarily worked in the UK and most recently on projects like WHITECHAPEL and TREASURE ISLAND with Eddie Izzard and Elijah Wood.
